Landen turned 1 on March 15th, 2011. Here it is 2months later, but here's a ton of pics from his special day!!
What a cute birthday boy!!! He turned 1 way to fast!!! On the actual day of his b-day we went to Josh's moms house and had some cake and opened a few presents with his family that wasn't going to be able to make his b-day party we had the following saturday.
Here's his first b-day cake! This one a did simple and bought it at alberstons. It was YUMMY! White cake with oreo whipped frosting!
He wasn't sure about the burning candle at first!
This was his very first piece of cake he got to have all to himself! He LOVED it! And Paige loved being his support!
He also enjoyed feeding Paige some if his cake, with his one finger!

Time for some presents!
This is his cousin Logan. There one year apart and logan loves baby's and just loved giving landen hugs and kisses all night. It was adorable!
Then that saturday we had his birthday party! My sister Traci came down for his party and once again came to my rescue and helped me create his Mickey Mouse Cake, for his Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed b-day party!
I loved how the cake turned out! The black crumbs on the dark chocolate frosting is oreo crumbs in case you were wondering. I also made cupcakes that I baked an oreo cookie inside the middle of the cupcake and sprikled oreo crumbs on top. They were so yummy!
The food was simple, but yummy. We did hot dogs because of the famous hot dog song on Mickey Mouse and had some veggies and chips. For the drinks I made ice cubes out of different colors/flavors of kool aid and had sprite. The ice cubes were a HUGE hit!
I didn't go to crazy on the decor, but the different shapes and numbers and colors you see on the wall were used for decor then later on for a game. We played Mickey Mouses favorite game " I Spy" the kids had fun!

After the game we had to do the traditional Pinata game, but this time since Landens a boy we actually had the one you swing a bat at vrs the pull string one! Her's Paige taking a swing!

He got lots of cars which was great because with just Paige before we didn't have hardly any boy toys, so it was nice to get some boy stuff in the house!

Landens 1st B-day was a success! I still can't believe he's one!!
Now some currents facts about Landen. At his check up he's still in the 70% for height and 20% for weight.
He's super super stubborn. He's got quite an attitude, which is a Hammond attitude. His tantrums right now are no fun at all. He throws himself to the ground and won't look where he's going and just throws himself back which often causes him to hurt himself or hit his head. He's getting into all my cubboards and likes to take everything out. He recently got into one of my cubboards and drank some dish soap, which caused me to make my first call to poison control. Luckily dish soap isn't poisioness so I just had to give him some water to drink to dilute it and a few days later he had diarrea, which I'm not sure if that was really caused by the dish soap or not cause we all ended up getting sick. One of the hardest parts about Landen right now is he's a super picky eater. Though his favorite food is mac n cheese, he'll eat that anytime. But anything else, good luck! But the last couple of days he has shown some improvement, he now likes pudding and yogart and he finally ate a slice of bread for the first time. Bread he often spits out the second it hits his tongue. And only certain yogarts will he eat (right now it's keylime pie), if you feed him the fruit in the yogart he gags and acts like he's gonna throw it up then spits it out. He does like pancakes and he likes multicherios with milk for breakfast. He loves crackers and rice cakes. That's about all I can think of in the food area right now. He's been a challenge were Paige is like a garbage disposal and will eat anything and everything you give her and still pretty much does.
Now that I'm done with Landens current challenges on the other side he is so stinking cute. It's hard to ever get mad at him for very long cause once he just glances at you and smiles it makes your heart melt! I like to believe he's a mommy boy. He loves to snuggle with me and I will snuggle with him any chance I get cause when he's not being snuggly he's usually trying to play swords with me or hit me with his plastic golf club cause he thinks it's funny. We're working on stopping that one. ;) haha! It's hard to get him laughing, but when he does it's so cute. He's walking all over the place. He started walking right around his first b-day. Which really has been a lot of fun. Paige and Landen have a lot more fun playing together now. This past week they have turned into best buds! They play together a lot. Last night they were playing ring around the roses. It was so funny to watch and the two of them were having a time of their life. Paige is the sweetest big sister to him. Landen just loves and adores Paige and Paige loves and adores Landen, I hope that lasts! :) Landens always so happy to see Paige when he just wakes up in the morning or from a nap. His happiest moments are when he's freshly woken up from a nap! He loves to play.
I love my little Lambo!! Even though your for sure a boy and do your boy like things that make things hard at times I love you more then anything! Your my little man and always will be!! I love you Landen Happy Birthday and to many more birthdays we have to come!
