Little Catch Up...

It's Official!!

Paige is 1 year old!!!!
Don't you just love this pic. I thought it was hilarious. Last friday Josh's mom stopped by and we took this picture of Paige in my mother in-law's glasses. You could tell Paige couldn't see very well with the glasses on, but it gave us a short laugh!
Anyway, Paige is ONE today! Yeah. We go in on Sept. 5th for her check up so I will post later how she's doing and how she's sitting on the charts. Josh and I just ordered her a new car seat, which I'm really excited to get. It'll be fun for her to beable to face forward and see the world and things a little bit better. Paige now say's the words "Mama" "Mommy" "Dada" "Daddy" "Josh" "Baby" and "Cake." (I think she got the word cake, from when we sing and play patty-cake, because we rarely eat cake, though she loves it!) Since we had her big party 10days ago we aren't doing much today, but while Josh was home between his two jobs we went to Golden Spoon for some frozen yogurt, and Paige LOVED it! She's now crawling super good, and loves to get into everything, (as every toddler does). So she's starting to learn what the word "NO" means, but she's still super happy and a lot of fun!
4 days of fun with Paige's Cousin Jordan
Last week I got to watch my nephew Jordan. In September when we go on our Puerto Rico trip my sister in-law Rachel is going to come down to St. George to watch Paige for us. So as a trade off we got Jordan who is 2 years old for half of a week. It was so much fun having him, and Paige and him had a BLAST together. Jordan would copy cat what Paige would say and do, and Paige would laugh at everything Jordan did. She thought he was so funny! Up above is just some pics of the two cute little cousins having a lot of fun together!
To cute not to post......
Saturday night Josh and Paige and I went to the Beehive Credit Union Summer Pary at the Washington Community Center. I worked at Beehive last year before I gave birth to Paige, but since they rented out the whole pool area for lots of people they invited a bunch of us that used to work there. It was a lot of fun to get together with my old co-workers and visit and see their kids again. For the reasoning behind the picture is the party didn't start till 8pm which is Paige's usual bed time. But since she had a later nap she was able to stay up later and had a lot of fun swimming, but by the end, close to 10pm, she was done. Josh had her up on his shoulders to stop her from sqirming in our arms, and this is what she did. She was SO tired she just layed her little head on his head and started to fall asleep. I'm so glad I had my camera, it was a cute moment.

Paige's First Birthday Party

Paige's first birthday is actually not until August 27th, but we celebrated it early because I had all my family in town for a reunion. But this is the party invitation I made for Paige's invites. I think they turned out pretty cute. Paige's Birthday theme was "Dora the Explorer" It's one of her favorite shows to watch so I thought it would be fun to plan her first birthday party around it. It took a month of planning and prep work (probably would have been less time, but remember I was moving two days before this party took place) But it was a lot of fun to put together and here is basicly a play by play of how the party went!

For Paige's birthday I did these kid size drawings of Dora and her friend Boots the monkey, and cut out holes in the faces so everyone could have a photo shoot as Dora or Boots. So as each person arrived to the party these are the photos we got!

Paige as Dora and me as Boots, Paige Dora, Me Dora and Josh Boots
My Mom and Dad, My sister Jenny and my bro in-law Scott
Their kids Maquade, Makenna and Makayla
My sister in law Becca, my bro Steve, Their kids Oakley and Riley
My sister Traci her husband Mike, My cousins wife Rachel and girl Emma
My mother inlaw Judy, sister inlaw Amy and Josh's cousin Matt and his wife Karla
Josh's sister Becky and her daughters Livvy and Kate
My neice Ember and her husband Gordan and my nephews Jaden and Kayson
Before the party actually started I had paige's cake baked and stuff put together to make a Dora Cake. But being crammed for time to get everything together I was lucky enough to have my talented sister Traci there to give me a helping hand. She ended up taking over and decorated the cake for me! Thank you so much for your help Traci, the cake turned out GREAT! I loved it! It's tradition in my family that on their first birthday they get to dig into their own cake. So this cake was specially made for Paige to destroy, pictures of that event are below! Also, I wanna thank my older sister Jenny for being my designated picture taker and helping me frost all the cupcakes I made for all the other kids and adults to eat! They were delicious!!
Here's some pictures of all the guests that were there to support Paige on her special day and a cute picture of my Birthday Girl!!
To start off the Party we had a "Paige the Explorer" Adventure game. It started out with me gathering all the little kids around and Paige thanking them for coming to the party by giving them little party boxes with treats, but little did the kids know the boxes were empty. So when the kids announced the boxes were empty I said, "Oh no, that means swiper swiped your treats" Swiper is a character in the TV show that tries to swipe things. So then I asked, "Who do we call when we don't know the way to go?" and the kid's yelled, "The Map" So I brought out my map and sang the Map song. Then the Map let us know that first we needed to cross over Balloon Bridge, then we had to crawl under Rainbow Tunnel, and that would lead us to the Pinata tree, where they would find there treats! So off we went to find Balloon Bridge!
Just as we gathered infront of Balloon Bridge and were getting ready to cross, the Grumpy Old Troll (my sister Traci and also another character from the show) popped out and sang, "I'm the Grumpy Old Troll who lives under the bridge, I'm the Grumpy old Troll who lives under the bridge. If you want to cross over all you have to do is this, all you have to do is this." "Solve my riddle." And the riddle was "What wears a diaper, is a girl, and we're celebrating her 1st Birthday today?" And of course all the kids yelled out "PAIGE" So we got to cross the bridge. Then next the map told us to go to Rainbow Tunnel.
Before we crawled under Rainbow Tunnel I asked the kids, "in fairy tails what do they usually find at the end of a rainbow?" And they all yelled out "Treasure" So I told them to keep an eye out for a treasure box. Once all the kids got their turn to crawl through we found the treasure box, but discovered it was locked. So I asked, "Who do you think will have a key?" And the kids yelled "Backpack" Then my assistent Traci jumped out with the Backpack picture and sang "Backpack Backpack, Backpack Backpack" Then we had to help her find the key. Once we got the key my neice Makenna pushed my homemade cardboard key in the whole I made in the box, which by magic unlocked it. Inside was a thing of Dora Bubbles for each kid to put in their favor boxes. Then it was time to head to the Pinata Tree.
I had a Dora pull string pinata set up for the kids. It's not like the regular pinata where you swing a bat at to beat it, but instead it had a bunch of strings hanging from the bottom where you chose a string and pull it and one strings opens up the bottom. But before I let the kids line up and take turns we all sang "Happy Birthday" to Paige. My neice Livvy Hansen ended up being the lucky one who pulled the string that let all the treats and toys come out. All the kids got so excited to see the treats and fill up their favor boxes. After their boxes were full we had all the kids come back inside and watch Paige open her presents.
My older brother in-law Scott ended up giving Paige an orange sucker, which she loved, but wasn't exactly the right timing. When I tried to take the sucker away from her so she could open her presents she got mad. So she ended up just eating her sucker while Josh and I opened most of her presents. She got lots of cute clothes and some fun new toys. Thanks to everyone for your fun gifts. After presents it was time for Cake!!
The first thing Paige did was stick her finger in the frosting. Then she touched her fingers and was moving them weird, because really I don't think she's used to being real dirty and thought it felt wierd. But once she got over that and noticed the chocolate cake and especially the chocolate licorice, she had a great time getting messy! She didn't do a whole lot to the cake, but she still made a nice little mess and had fun!
Sorry for such the long post, but the birthday was so much fun I couldn't not post everything that went on. If you weren't there hopefully you were able to experience the fun of it through my post! I'm happy her birthday turned out so fun, but I dunno if I can go through all this work every year. We'll just have to wait and see. I guess being a home mom gets you into wanting to do this fun stuff. But we'll see how long it lasts for me. It really is a lot of work!

Happy Birthday to Paige on the 27th! She's gonna be 1 year old!! I can't believe it!

Moving and New Car

New Car

So lots of changes going on in my little family. With the economy going how it is and through upgrading our rent soon from a town house to a house, Josh and I decided to trade in our truck and get a better fuel efficient car. Those who know me, know I LOVE my truck. It's a Nissan Frontier 2007 4-door, we got it brand new, so the condition was perfect and there was like no miles on it. But as of last friday I had to say my goodbye's to my truck, which was really hard, but then I got to say "Hello" to my new car! (well used/new) It's a 2007 Mazda 6. It has great features and is super cute! After owning our car for a couple days now, I absolutely LOVE it!! It's not the same love I had for my truck, but it'll do as a great replacement until we get a truck again some day in the future! It's really fun to drive too, it's an adjustment to go back to riding low again, but it's a lot of fun!

Moving Friday, August 15th!!

As I mentioned above, and as some of you may know. Josh and I are moving this friday into a house. We'll be renting it for atleast a year, then we'll see what happens. Hopefully this will be our last place to rent and after this we'll be able to buy our own house! But for now, this will work. We were getting really tired of our town house. It's really nice in the inside, but I'm ready to be done with stairs (especially with Paige crawling around now), done with covered parking (ready for a garage), and our parking space is kind of far away from our front door, so hauling Paige and groceries, isn't that fun. Do able, but I'm done! And then there's other little reasons, but that's not important. The place we're moving into is 3bed 2bath 15oo sqft. 2 car garage. The whole house could use a new paint job, but overall it's pretty nice. Here's some pics of our soon to be new place!

Paige's very first time CRAWLING!!!

Paige has done it!!! She has crawled for the very FIRST time! I've been working with her for awhile now, but today out of no where she got up on her knees all by herself and did a little crawl. After she did it the first time, I got her on video giving it another try. It's only been a couple hours since she did her first crawl, and she's already starting to get better. She doesn't crawl everywhere yet, but I'm sure tomorrow will be a different story!!!

Then I had to add this picture to the post because it was just too funny not to share. This picture below simply sums up what happens when Josh offers to take care of Paige on a Saturday morning while I sleep in for an extra hour!! From Paige's facial expression you can tell she didn't care to much for the hair dew either!

Saturday morning Fun!

So it's Saturday and Josh went to work this morning and Paige is now napping, but before she went down for her nap we had a little bit of fun. I was extremely bored and wanted to try on Paige's new outfits. The hot pink/black one is for her to wear on her birthday, and the light pink/brown one is one of her presents. So for those of you who will see Paige on her B-day, I guess your getting a sneak preview, but I couldn't help but post what went on this morning. First I dress Paige in her light pink and brown outfit. I stood her up against the couch to see if she could stand up all by herself so I could get a picture of the whole outfit, and she did more then just stand, which took me by suprise. Dora was playing on the TV in the background because it's her favorite show we'll watch in the early mornings and anyway Paige not only stood against the couch, but starting dancing and having a good old time. She was having so much fun standing and dancing that I got a bunch of pictures and even a video of her having her fun! The video pretty cute I have to say because it's the first time I've been able to catch her on tape dancing. I was also trying to catch her doing Patty cake on film, because she does it SO cute, but I can never get her to do it for me while I'm recording, and plus I ran out of memory! woops! Anyway enjoy this clip and photos!

Next, was the hot pink/black onsie that I'm gonna have her wear for her B-day party. She looks so cute in it! Well, by this time she was getting really sick of me taking pictures that she gave me the most saddest face ever, and slightly started to cry. I felt so bad, but I say I caught quite the picture. After, she stopped being mad she started being SO funny and was pulling all sorts of weird faces. I got her blowing up her cheeks, doing something weird with her lips, and then a burst of laughter! She has quite the personality I tell you. I can already tell she's gonna be alot of fun as well as a handful as she gets older! For and FYI she's still not walking or crawling, but she's getting so super close to crawling. So hopefully with in the week I will be posting some video of her finially crawling! Here's the funny pics of her funny faces, and then the saddest pic of her ever!

FYI - I purchase her outfits and headbands from http://www.babyblossom.biz/, and if you check out that website you'll see Paige on the very front page (twice) Then also if you go to Clips, then Flowers, she's on that first page and also about 2 or 3 pages in modeling another headband (blue flower). Then she's also in the Photo Gallery! She's just too cute in her headbands, that the lady from babyblossom wanted some pics of her to use on her website! So check it out! She looks so cute!!!
