Hammond Family Reunion 2011 - Part One

This year the Hammond Family Reunion was at Bear Trap Lodge in Northern Utah (near Park City). We rented out this cabin. It was a big cabin that was perfect for the big hammond family. Not everybody was there, but it was a big group and we had a really great time. The cabin had a loft, lots of bedrooms, ping pong table, a pool table, a sauna and a hot tub as well as a big screen TV. So really there was lots to do. Josh and I went hot tubbing almost every night, that was one of my favorite parts. Another one of my favorite new Hammond family traditions is making a movie when were all together. So each day we filmed some of our movie. The movie we did this year was a murder mystery. Nothing better then filming a scary movie at a cabin. I can't wait to see how it turned out. Also while we were there we went on a hike not to far from our cabin, it was a uphill battle next to a really fast river and with all the drownings that has happening in Utah this year the hike made us all more paranoid then enjoyable, but it was a pretty short hike and the kids enjoyed themselves and no one got hurt so it wasn't to bad. Back at the cabin the kids got to do a craft that turned out so cute. The kids also LOVED the loft in the cabin. I wish I would have taken a picture of it, Paige loved climbing up and down the ladder that you had to climb to get to the loft. It was like a little hide out for the kids and they loved it. One night the ladies and I did a manicure/pedicure/facial night. It's always fun to pamper yourselves once in awhile. On our final day we went to lagoon but that'll be part of Hammond Family Reunion 2011- Part 2! Here's the pictures from Part One....

Here's landen outside he loved climbing up and down the little step there. That entertained him for a long time!

Paige loved to play in the small snow pile that was in the side yard.

reaching for loves! so cute!

Once Landen found the snow he liked it too, but it was cold!

Here's a bunch of the grandkids that were there working on their craft.

While the kids are workin Landen's explorin.

I was pretty impressed with Paige's painting skills!

The final product. I thought they were so cute. (I painted Landens)

Another view of the cabin. It was pretty much 3 1/2 floors.

Playing in the snow.

Sliding down the snow!

Rachel and Josh trying to make the slide better for the kids. Didn't really work though! :)

The grandkids lining up infront of their names that they made for their craft.

Tempting to get Landen in the picture to, didn't work so well.

I love this pic of Paige. She looks so stinkin sweet!

Our family on the hike infront of the rushing river.

The kids need to take a break (by kids I mean tirsah and rachel :) jk)

We had a break for snacks before we headed back!

Paige's sweet glasses haha they look so funny on her, but I love this picture of her and her cousin Preston. They're so cute!

Where'd Paige and Daddy go?

Heading back to the cabin after the hike!

Mother Daughter Date + Landens Crazy Hair-do

Earlier this summer Paige and I went on a mother daugher date. I think it was our first mother daughter date since landen was born. We had such a good time I wanted to post about it and remember this special day with Paige. We started off our date by going to the Creative Minds play center here in St. George. It was our first time going there and Paige had so much fun. If you have young kids it's a place worth checking out, though it'll be closed to the public during the school year cause they're doing preschool there this year. But anyway it's got so many play stations where your little ones imagination can just run wild!!!! Paige was a princess in her own castle, a pirate on her own ship, a mommy in her own house, a cash register check out person at lins, as well as a grocery shopper, a mechanic, a architech and much much more. After I was worn out and she was a little it was lunch time. So we went to mcdonalds and picked up some chicken nuggets then we went to 25th main and picked up some cupcakes (mommy's fave) and took our food to the city park. There we hung out and ate then played some more till it was time to go home and be with Landen so dad could go to work and our date was up. Paige is such an amazing little girl and I'm so blessed to have her in my life. When she reads this in the future I want her to know I love her so much, I am so happy she is my little girl and I just look forward to creating more wonderful memories with her!

Josh took a pic of the kiddos one night in the backyard and Paige's face in this one just made me laugh!

Then there's little Landen aka Lambo! He is such a hoot himself. This is one of the cheesiest grins I've caughten from him on camera and I love it. Josh decided to suprise me on day and gave little Lambo a new hair cut.

It was some type of mohawk. All I thought when I first saw it was "oh boy" Landen didn't mind the new do and he still looked pretty cute so I let him keep it for a little while!

Landen you are a character. So quite but so michiveious and into everything. You keep mommy on her toes. But then your one of the snuggliest little boys and I LOVE your snuggles!!! I hope you never stop giving me snuggles! Your growing up just way to fast!! I need you to slow down and be a baby for a little bit longer!!!

Hold to the Iron Rod

This summer we had a new church house built and our ward was one of the wards going to the new church. So our awesome primary presidency put together a thing where the Little Valley 7th Ward Primary put together a time capsule, then we got to bury the time capsule under (next to) a brand new tree that was being planted next to our new church house. All the kids got to participate and the presidency did a whole theme about following the iron rod and this was our tree of life. It was a really good little detication and Paige had a lot of fun.

Here's Paige waiting her turn to hold to the rod.

She made the right choice ;)

Landen hung out with me on the sidelines.

Here's Paige helping do her part to contribute to the burying of our time capsule and planting of our tree.

After the primary thing Paige wanted to say Hi to the neighbors horses as we were walking home.

After we got home we went to play in the backyard cause the kids weren't ready to go inside.

They're new favorite thing to do in the backyard is go potatoe bug hunting!! Paige is so sweet and precious to them, Landen on the other hand is a boy and not so gentle.

Here's Paige being so sweet to her friend Mr. Rolly Polly!

Our first official Family Campout, but definately not the last!

Josh and I both enjoy camping, but had hardly gone since we've been married. So we decided this year we were going to go, and we've actually gone a lot, but I'll post about more of those camping trips later, but this post is about our first camping trip we took this year. It was also our very first camping trip of just our little family!

For this camping trip we drove to Pine Valley, but it was so early in the year the camping ground wasn't open yet.

So we found ourselves at Bakers Dam. It was pretty there and just so nice to be outdoors just hanging out as a family.

Here's the kiddos and I enjoying a snack!

Lunchables yumm...yummm!

Landen was a big helper putting up the tent. He held onto the poles for us.

Josh and Paige went for a little nature walk.

One of the kids' favorite activities is playing inside the car. Why? I'm not sure, but they love it.

They also had fun playing in the dirt.

Look at that beautiful dirty face!

Landen also has a major shoe fettish!!

Paige and Landen love eachother so much! They are such good siblings! I hope that lasts forever!

Paige was such a big helper with dad and wanted to help with everything.

Here she is helping him boil the water to make hot chocolate.

She even helped him put this massive log in the fire.

Here she is on her pedistal. She felt like a queen in this log chair.

She also shared with us some of her cute little crack.

Landen looked to adorable just hanging out in the camping chair eating some graham crackers!

Funny face Paige!

Landen had a super good time camping!

Paige the next morning! Rise and shine and its time to go home.
